Evolution of Mer de Glace (2007 to 2025)

The video below shows the evolution of Mer de Glace glacier (French Alps) between 2007 and 2025, and the thinning observed over this period is approximately 96 m. Since the summer of 2021, we visited Mer de Glace each summer, to record its change. Mer de Glace is a glacier covered by gray gravel. In the video, we can see it thinning and slowly moving downstream.
